The issue has been identified as an increased error rate from the AWS API. We're working with AWS on a resolution.

Investigating
We’re actively investigating increased latencies collecting AWS metrics and events. As a result, there might be delays in graphs displaying these metrics. To avoid spurious alerts, we’ve temporarily disabled alerts for aws.* metrics.
